Sania Mirza to be honored with Padmasri!
Sania Mirza will become one of the youngest ever recipients of the prestigious
Padmasri Award and the Presidential declaration is to be made soon. Sania Mirza was given the honor of
Arjuna Award last year by the Indian Government.
The sources say Sania Mirza's name is in the final shortlisted
recipients of Padmasri award and the office of the President of India
has communicated with the State Government of Andra Pradesh, to furnish
it with the complete list of her achievements.
Sania Mirza
had a agile rise in her world ranking - from 197 in 2005 to 32 now -
with in a short span of one year, is considered as a stunning
achivement by any standards - particularly by an Indian or - to be more
specific - by an
Indian Girl. - Sania Mirza become the first Indian woman to enter the Third round of the Australian Open Tennis Tournament.
- Sania Mirza became the First Indian Women to win a WTA Tournament in Hydrabad Februvary.
- Sania Mirza become the first Indian woman to enter the fourth round of the US Open Tennis Tournament.
To make the list short - few of the achievements Sania Mirza made last
year and this definetly indicates her eligibility to get Padmasri award.
